The Filesystem View is the main view of the REB1100 memory filesystem. There are actually two separate filesystems – the internal memory filesystem, and the Smart Media card filesystem. The eBook readers, which have no Smart Media cards, no not have the Smart Media Card Filesystem. On the left there is the directory tree, and on the right there is the file list. The main view of the eBook filesystem actually doesn’t show any files, but displays the properties from the REB1100 __STATUS file. The Filesystem View allows the user to upload and download ebook titles between the PC and the REB1100.
The Title List View allows you to see the list of book titles in the REB1100 memory. One can see all the titles or the titles by memory type. In the eBook reader without a Smart Media card the list of all titles and the list of Internal Memory titles are going to be identical. The Title List View allows the user to upload and download ebook titles between the PC and the REB1100. This view only displays the ebook titles, while the Filesystem View attempts to display all files in the REB1100 filesystem.
To upload an ebook file (.RB) into a REB1100, simply drag the file from a Windows Explorer window and drop it on the Title List titlestitlesor on the Filesystem View’s File List . The ebook will be uploaded into your eBook Reader. Alternately, you can select a directory (or a memory type, if in Title List View) and hit the Upload button. You will be prompted with a file selection dialog for a file name to upload into your eBook Reader.
To download a file into your PC, simply select a file in the Filesystem View or a title on the Title List View , and either click the Download button on the toolbar, or click the right mouse button and select Download from the popup menu. You will be prompted with a Save As dialog.
